The free-zone questions to settle before year-end

Qualifying income, substance, and the board questions that should be closed before the filing window tightens.

Free-zone status is not a tax outcome by itself. Boards need clarity on qualifying income, adequate substance, and which transactions fall outside the preferential rate — before year-end, not during preparation of the return.

Questions that should already be on the agenda

Is your activity on the qualifying list for the relevant Free Zone Person rules? Do related-party arrangements have transfer-pricing support? Where does mainland income sit in the group picture?

Settling these questions early compresses filing risk and avoids last-minute restructuring that examiners and auditors later reconstruct against you.
